In many New Zealand organisations, you hear about the role of Scrum Master – the one who facilitates meetings and challenges team members to improve. Are you:
- Just starting in your role as Scrum Master?
- Wanting to become a Scrum Master?
- A junior Agile coach?
...then the Future Forward Scrum Master Pathway is a perfect fit for you. During this six-week learning experience, you will deep dive into the Scrum Master role. With short and iterative modules based on different ways of learning, you will not only learn everything you need to know, but also build relationships with the other Scrum Mastery participants. The modules will let you experience different types of learning – videos, games, teaching and presenting.
You will apply the learning from each module in your day-to-day work and share your experiences with the group in the following week. This is a more intensive way of learning that will get you ready with the tools and knowledge to become an excellent Scrum Master for your team(s).
We will kick off the track with a self-assessment to check your knowledge and skills around Agile and Scrum Mastery. We will do this assessment again in the last module to see how much you've learned. And once you finished your journey, you'll receive an Assurity certificate!
All around us people talk about Agile – ‘We are Agile’, ‘We work Agile’. But what is Agile for real? What do all those buzzwords mean? Learn about the Agile Manifesto, the mindset, values and practices of Agile. During this module we'll get to know each other, set our goals for the coming weeks and test our knowledge and skills so we can keep track of our growth.
One of the most used frameworks and home to the role of a Scrum Master. During this module we will take a deep dive into the events, roles and artifacts that make up the Scrum framework. You will understand the responsibilities of the roles and how, as a Scrum Master, you're the owner of the process.
One of the most important skills of a Scrum Master. Many people underestimate the work needed to facilitate a successful meeting. Use your skills and experiences to become an excellent facilitator for your organisation.
Community of Practice
It's time to look back at what we've learned over the past three weeks. Share our stories, challenges and tips with each other. We'll focus on the practical part of learning – how to put it into practice in real life.
Role and Team Dynamics
As a Scrum Master, you'll interact with many of the roles in your organisation, most of them will be outside the framework. Those interactions will highlight dysfunctional behaviours that need attention. How do you deal with that as a Scrum Master?
